Commissioning for Weston’s state-of-the-art public works facility project.

Colliers Project Leaders provided commissioning services for the Town of Weston’s new state-of-the-art Department of Public Works Facility. The new Public Works Facility consists of one large building with three interconnected sections plus a separate vehicle storage area.

The major section of the structure, which is arranged around a courtyard, includes administrative offices, workshop space and five maintenance bays. The maintenance bay area is equipped with a hydraulic lift that can handle a load of 78,000 pounds. This is equivalent to a fully loaded sander with an attached plow.

The separate vehicle storage area, which measures 175 by 96 by 26 feet, can hold up to 28 trucks. Adjacent to this is a wash bay to be used for all school and municipal vehicles.

Colliers Project Leaders provided fundamental commissioning services for the mechanical and energy consuming systems associated with the Town of Weston’s New Department of Public Works Facility.

We were responsible for confirming and documenting that the facility fulfilled the functional and performance requirements of the Owner, occupants, and operators. In addition, our team ensured that complete operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals as well as training on systems operation, were provided to the building operators to allow the building to operate as intended.

We also maintained a commissioning issues log which detailed items discovered as non-compliant and the corrective efforts required to resolve them.
